Your faction determines the trainer you need.
Verified route notes
Two-handed training follows your faction route. TposeGaming identifies Thorus for the Old Camp, Lee for the New Camp, and Cor Angar for the Swamp Camp.
The guide also reports a one-handed mastery prerequisite after patches. Check available dialogue before committing Learning Points to a hybrid build.
- Thorus offers training after the appropriate Chapter Three promotion.
- Budget points for training, not only weapon attributes.

Match the trainer to your current route
Start with the faction your save actually belongs to, not the weapon you hope to use later. Write down the relevant trainer and your current promotion stage before traveling. The three names in the source are alternatives attached to different routes, not a circuit that every character must complete in order.
Speak to the appropriate trainer and read the available training choices. A missing option can indicate an unmet progression requirement; it does not automatically mean that the trainer is in the wrong place. For Thorus, compare the Chapter Three promotion condition with your journal before looking for another character who might bypass it.

Budget for the route, not only the weapon
Make two separate lists: the attributes required by the weapon you own, and the lessons required before you can train the fighting skill. Combining these into a single number hides the reason a build stalls. Owning a promising weapon is not enough evidence that you can equip it or unlock its associated training immediately.
The source reports a one-handed mastery prerequisite following updates. Before committing a large share of Learning Points, confirm the current requirement in the trainer dialogue. Do not spend points merely to reproduce an old build screenshot: first establish which part of the route is a prerequisite and which part is an optional preference.
If you are also considering crafting or magic, reserve a written budget for each commitment. This guide does not establish the complete cost of a finished hybrid build, so an exact total would be misleading. The practical goal is simpler: avoid spending the points you need for an observed training requirement on a second system before you have made that trade-off deliberately.
Check progress after each lesson
After learning a skill, inspect the character information and revisit the trainer’s remaining choices. Record what changed before buying another lesson. This helps distinguish a successfully learned prerequisite from a dialogue option you only opened. A separate pre-training save is useful for reviewing your plan, but it is not a claim that a built-in respec system exists.
Do not use this trainer plan as support for an early Gomez-loot route. That older advice conflicts with later source notes and is intentionally outside this walkthrough. If training remains unavailable, report your faction, chapter, promotion and learned prerequisite; those details are more useful than a weapon name alone.
